DRI Energy occupies an exciting and rapidly expanding presence in the energy services industry.  Increasing markets and company growth have led to the creation of the Estimator position.  The position reports to DRI Energy’s Sales Operations Manager and works out of the Company’s Irvine, California office. 

Role:

The Estimator is a direct contributor to the profitability of the company by ensuring the execution of complete and accurate estimates.  We seek a highly motivated individual who can effectively work with project developers, subcontractors, clients and office personnel and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate plan/blueprint take-offs, field take-offs, reading and understanding of specifications and assist with proposal preparation.
  • Perform site visits at the direction of Sales Operations Manager.
  • Work with project development team in the evaluation of roof and ground mounted commercial solar systems and implementing options to meet customer needs and cost requirements.
  • Constantly upgrade, refine and update estimating templates.
  • Ensure that job costs are correctly projected for project bids.
  • Responsible for overall scheduling of the estimating process to include timelines and turnaround of proposals.
  • Learn about our customers and competitors to maximize our sales opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years solar estimating experience
  • Proficient in estimating software
  • Ability to read, interpret and accurately take-off construction drawings
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Excel
  • Performance-based mentality and a strong team player
  • Must be able to climb ladders for roof access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience estimating state and federal government projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or related field
